EASTER 2025- Easter Quiz

Quote- “The great gift of Easter is hope” Basil C. Hume

Happy Easter to you! I am writing this on a sunny March Day and by the time you read it, it will be the great annual celebration of Easter. It is a lovely time of year to celebrate the move through spring and enjoy some days off. Even if you are not religious, Hume’s quote of Easter bringing “hope” chimes with us all. It is a time of hope that the rest of the spring and summer will be lovely weather. Hope for our own lives to keep going well or improve. Hope that the world will become a more positive place. Hope is the anchor of all.

In a twist, I am going to do something different this blog, but still literary themed. I am going to give you five Easter themed questions to puzzle at. No prize, just some fun for the readers of my blog. I hope you enjoy; one question will challenge you. I will share the answers in the May blog, so note them down and check them! Also, I hope you enjoy the Easter themed photos, inspired by the quiz questions. I think of Peter Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland and of course Daffodils at Easter. They feel very apt and seasonal.

  1. Name the missing bunny rabbit in The Tale of Peter Rabbit: Flopsy, blank, Cotton-tail, and Peter?
  2. What does the rabbit in Lewis Caroll’s Alice In Wonderland always carry with him?
  3. Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and Blackberry are four plucky rabbits looking for a new home in which classic Richard Adams novel?
  4. What is the name of the rabbit in A. A Milne’s Winnie the Pooh?
  5. What is the name of the titular rabbit in Margery Williams’ 1922 classic children’s book?

I hope you find the quiz fun – see if you can spot the challenging question and indeed can answer it.  I hope it provides some fun over your Easter, either on your own or with others. See if you can do it without Google’s help and if you can, wait to see the answers next month. As a young writer, I enjoy a quiz and usually am not the best at them, but they always provide a way to learn as well as challenge our knowledge.

Of course, two of the writers I have mentioned this month, Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, are from the Lake District. The images they create are ones of nature, beauty in the outdoors and the new life that spring, and of course, Easter brings. It loops back to the word “hope”. Something that we all need and apply to everything we do. In that thought, I hope you have a great Easter break and indulge in the treats of the season.

Also, all the best with the quiz!
